Chinese Giant Unveils New Electric Car: Latest E9 Model Features Shocking Updates

New Baidu EV Model Leaks: Design Inspired by HanDM-I, Targeting Peer-to-Peer Mobility Market

A recent submission from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China has leaked details about a new all-electric vehicle (EV) model from Baidu. While the exact specifications have not been confirmed, the leaked images reveal that the car's design will continue to draw inspiration from its 2024 counterpart, the HanDM-i.

Key Features and Design

The new EV is expected to primarily target the peer-to-peer mobility market. Its exterior design echoes the 2024 HanDM-i model, with a focus on retaining the same overall aesthetic. The front face boasts large grid bars, with an updated point array style decoration which is anticipated to be replaced by a solid grille in future updates.

Upon closer inspection, its dimensions remain largely faithful to those of the 2024 HanDM-i: a length of 4995 mm, width of 1910 mm (1940), and a height of 1495 mm. The wheelbase measures out at 2920 mm, indicating that it follows in the footsteps of its predecessor.

Mechanical and Technical Details

The powertrain for this new EV is expected to come equipped with 135 kW electric motors. Given that details on wheels have also surfaced – measuring 245/50 R18 – we can anticipate additional technical specifications emerging in due course, as these too will undoubtedly be scrutinized by enthusiasts for further understanding.

As developments unfold regarding the release of this model it's anticipated there'll be much to consider about this all-new vehicle within the automotive world.
