New Longan Yuedong Spotted: Significant Changes Expected for Upcoming Model

A recently leaked report from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has given us a glimpse into the forthcoming Longan Yuedong model. The new variant is expected to feature significant changes in its exterior design, with both fuel-powered and hybrid models making their debut.

Key Design Highlights

The new Yuedong's facial features have undergone considerable transformation, including an increased lengthwise profile and LED fog lights embedded within a sleek front grille. These modifications are aimed at giving the car a more refined appearance while maintaining its distinctive three-dimensional look. The side air intakes and lower radiator grilles have been enlarged to improve airflow.

Vehicle Dimensions

The Longan Yuedong's dimensions, when launched, will measure 4,785mm in length, 1,840mm in width, with an increased ground clearance of up to 1440mm. Both the fuel-powered and hybrid models are classified as compact cars due to their tighter wheelbase than previous versions.

The vehicles come equipped with entirely new alloy wheels.

Rear Design

Significant updates can be seen at the rear end where the LED-style tail lights have been reimagined for a more contemporary look, accompanied by clear-view glass that increases visibility. Moreover, these new designs also include full-size rear side window and optimized exterior bodywork to enhance driving dynamics.

Additionally introduced is an entirely updated electronic air disturbance plate in order to enhance efficiency of power sources via advanced engineering methodologies employed in automotive manufacturing.

Motor Performance

The Longan Yuedong's primary fuel variant carries on a new high-performance engine which continues from previous variants. The motor includes significant enhancements to create more driving freedom through optimal vehicle design choices along with a boost to driving power that was previously only achievable when merging onto various traffic patterns.

As for the hybrid model, two distinct options exist, each featuring powerful motors of different horsepower capacities:

The plug-in and hybrid-electric variants will rely on an all-wheel drive system equipped with a single 1.5-liter petrol engine producing up to 72 kilowatts in various driving conditions.

The plug-in version comes with a lithium-ion battery pack and offers better fuel efficiency and performance for long-distance travel with low environmental impact.
