Shanghai Auto Show: New Harbin Haval Models Shine with Innovative Designs and Advanced Technology
The 2023 Shanghai Auto Show has come to a close, and Harbin Haval's lineup is among the notable exhibits. The brand showcased several new models, including the second-generation Haval Chuanlong MAX, which officially launched on October 16th.
Aimed at those looking for a versatile and capable vehicle, the HavalMAX boasts its robust four-wheel-drive system across all trim levels, showcasing Harbin's commitment to delivering exceptional off-road capabilities. With prices ranging from a limited-time swap-out price of ¥13.18-16.98,000 to 11.68-15.48,000 Yuan for select models depending on the region.
Beyond its flagship model, Haval has emphasized its future expansion plans in the electric vehicle segment. Moving forward, all new-generation Harbin Haval EVs are expected to incorporate four-wheel-drive systems as standard, while an upcoming, revised version of "Car Force" series will hit production lines in late 2024.
HavalMAX
Positioned as a mid-size SUV, the Haval MAX takes inspiration from nature. Utilizing shapes reminiscent of sky, ocean, and stars, the official calls its unique natural beauty aesthetic "dynamic natural charm." Its length, width and height stand at 4780/1895 /1725mm. Compared to the more compact, tightly-scaled MULAN model it surpasses by some 100 MM, the overall size will be enhanced.
Compared with other rivals its wheelbase measures a notable increase of around 2810 mm in comparison to Haval MULAN SUV at an increased value. While maintaining all-day comfort thanks to generous leg room of almost maximum available across four seats, headroom and cargo space remain acceptable for an SUV of this size.
The car boasts elegant headlights that make one's imagination soar to the infinite skies or dive beneath uncharted depths; a stunning and expressive new frontal design element truly takes breath away here. It may be argued Haval has never quite managed to reach levels of sophistication and precision so commonly witnessed across premium brands like BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz when it comes to their modern interpretations of this basic front face styling.
Interior-wise, all models are well-appointed with top-notch materials providing a luxurious feel to each drive away. The interior's clean layout makes an excellent impression thanks entirely to the abundance of glasswork, while clever integration provides effortless integration for various driver assists too.
Powering HavalMAX is second-generation powerplant by which this model claims to deliver efficiency that rivals larger cars in same segment: thanks mainly due to innovative regenerative braking combined with fuel-sipping turbocharged engine and all-wheel-drive hybrid system - no performance sacrificed here for range benefit as a consequence.
