Chevrolet Bolt Evoltion Set to Make Global Debut on June 19, 2018
The future of electric vehicles is here, and the new Chevrolet Bolt E5 is ready to hit the roads on June 19. With a range of 620 kilometers on a single charge, this latest iteration boasts an impressive list of upgrades, catering to the diverse needs of today's consumers.
Design-wise, the new Chevrolet Bolt E5 boasts a refreshing new look, courtesy of the PURE Design language. Gone are the bulky proportions and metallic grille that defined its predecessor; in their place lies a sleeker design with a distinctive black facelace and split-lens headlights for added sophistication. The rear of the car remains largely unchanged, but it still looks modern.
The interior retains its familiar ambiance while introducing a host of upgraded amenities. The new eConnect smart cabin offers a more intuitive driving experience. Additionally, the 30-inch curved touchscreen display and advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor remain standard across all variants.
One significant addition is Chevrolet's latest AI-powered model, enhancing search capabilities and conversational interactions by leaps and bounds. Moreover, there’s a redesigned seat for enhanced comfort in long-distance travel: when positioned against the rear seatback, it inclines at a staggering 27 degrees.
Chevrolet Bolt E5 will be powered by an improved variant of General Motors' EV2 platform; it’s expected to deliver its maximum power output (180kW or 245PS) from a single electric motor.
It promises a range of 620 kilometers on a single charge, an impressive improvement over previous models in terms of energy efficiency – with a low down-size of just 13.4kW·h per kilometer, driving it to more manageable charging times.
The Bolt E5 features two lithium-ion battery capacities available; the 63.9 kWh and the bigger 76.8 kWh one being the higher-capacity variant for even longer drives.
