New GAC A7 EM-i Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle Unveiled in China
The Global Automotive Company (GAC) has officially released images of its new mid-size plug-in hybrid SUV, the GAC A7 EM-i.
With a fuel efficiency rating below 2.0 liters per 100 kilometers and an extended range of over 2100 kilometers on a single charge, this model aims to compete with cars priced between 10 thousand yuan in China's emerging market for affordable luxury vehicles.
Exterior design features include star-shaped LED strips that run through the front grille, accompanied by robust side lamps that create a bold appearance. This style complements an expansive wheel arch. Dimensions are 4918 x 1905 x 1495mm, with an axle length of 2845mm, making this car a compact luxury vehicle.
The profile side also introduces significant shoulder lines, complete with standard-rimmed wheels and black edging around window frames – all exuding refinement. Unlike the trend in modern cars, GAC adopted traditional structures for doors to better facilitate day-to-day operation.
At the rear, sleek headlamps are held in conjunction by horizontal central lamps creating a unified look. On the side of the boot, the addition of two tiny flying tail elements is seen.
Interior-wise, GAC A7 EM-i employs new interior designs in tandem with advanced driver assistance systems. This car includes unique dual steering wheels to match both luxurious feel and versatility. Controls along their central console offer an enhanced user-friendly experience with options for different temperature settings for the inside climate control system as well.
The GAC plug-in hybrid features a powertrain made composed of its only 1.5L engine - combining electric motor technology, maximum output power of 112 horsepower combined with all-wheel drive capabilities offering driving speeds ranging around two to five percent below speed limits set by national authorities. Further details regarding specifications is not available right now at this point.
