Huawei's New Flagship, iQus, to Hit the Market: Key Features Revealed

On June 28th, HONDA officially confirmed that its newly-launched flagship SUV, iQus S800, will begin accepting pre-orders through its 'Pioneers Program', with a total of 599 units initially scheduled for delivery. These will all be fitted out in either the Starlight/Gemini Executive Edition or Super Edition variants.

Before its market launch earlier this month, iQus S800 unveiled four different trim levels with prices ranging from 70.8 to 101.8 thousand yuan.

A quick glance back at the new model's design language - inspired by Horizon & Sea Horizon. The signature design will feature HONDA's new visual identity across its lineup of vehicles, as the iQus S800 brings this unique "starr"-inspired aesthetic into play with a vertical and horizontal take on 'Horizon'.

The car features striking front-end facial recognition technology equipped in the Crystal LED headlights - which are carved so precisely to mimic that star-filled night sky with a sweeping curve effect. While offering great visibility, the side lights have distinctive streaks painted along it for greater visual impact at night.

Color palette-wise - this model boasts several hues ranging from pure dark gray, pale gold to an abundance of pastel color shades in their special editions such as Silver, Golden and Light Blue.

Car dimensions reach 5480 x2000 mm with depth reaching the height of 1536mm while the overall axle length spans out over a considerable distance of 3370m.

Upon entering this four-seater cabin - you will be seated behind larger display panels and touch-sensitive screens set up so you can enjoy an easy operating environment using three distinct interface displays, including true Leather seats as well with dual color options offering ample room within these comfortable seatback sections.

Inside there is a comprehensive package of smart accessories available at your disposal - starting off from an extended touchscreen interface on the infotainment center for passengers seated up front - they enjoy complete control via swipes across 1,5 inches of screen, plus smartphone apps integrated easily like smartphones themselves. The dashboard features HUAWEI’s XHUD (eye HUD) - and smart exterior vision systems using the new Electronic interior rearview mirror with a digital display for effortless navigation to assist drivers in their daily driving routines.

A convenient space with multiple touchpoints offers intuitive controls that allow an unobstructed view via dual screen setup. These cleverly concealed panels are arranged on either side of one driver’s seat - which are designed by engineers at Horizon & Sea in collaboration, not only to enhance user experience but to offer easy access and control to its passengers as well.

In terms of the driving system, HONDA is bringing a long-awaited high-end upgrade known as iQus Advanced Driving System v4. Alongside it, 27 separate sensors are integrated that include radar sensors of advanced multi-sensor, 7 rear-view cameras equipped - capturing stunning real-time footage. For an added sense of assurance in terms of road safety, numerous features have been incorporated.

iQus S800 boasts its front wheels featuring special low-profile HUB designs. When it comes to performance, with models available as both an all-electric version and a hybrid model powered by an electric engine that is capable of producing 115kW from its mid-range gasoline engine or alternatively can be used on different versions equipped with three engines in total.

The fully Electric iQus S800 has been equipped with 97kWh massive rechargeable batteries, complete together with multiple 5C charging ports. CLTC system combined with enhanced regenerative capabilities is said to extend the range to a full 702 kilometers.
