Academy Gullwing GL8 Landstar Begins Mass Production

On May 10th, the Acadami Gullwing GL8 Landstar, the latest flagship model from Chevrolet for China's luxury car market, officially started its mass production. Having debuted on April 22nd, a total of over 10,000 units have been sold within just two weeks of its launch.

Target Market and Competitor Positioning

The Acadami Gullwing GL8 Landstar is positioned in the 25-30 million yuan market segment, targeting buyers who want a car that sits between the Buick GL6 and GL8. Design-wise, the vehicle features a distinctive front grille with a high level of recognition quality, flared trapezoidal internal vents adorned with "fog cloud" decorations, LED headlights echoing the classic Avant wing-inspired design.

Dimensions and Interior Space

Measuring 5199/1878/1807mm in length, width, and height respectively, the vehicle boasts an ample interior space. With a wheelbase of 3088mm, the backseat benefits from adjustable legroom and air conditioning with heating functions for optimal comfort. The rear seatbacks feature soft headrests for added relaxation.

Notably, this car offers an additional screen of 15.6 inches in front for immersive digital entertainment, dubbed "Big Screen Entertainment."

Back-up Space: Upon capacity for passengers the onboard boot compartment may still be capable of fitting up to three 24-inch combination luggage storage solutions and two smaller (21 inch), as per the offical statement.

Key Innovations and Technological Features

A key feature of this car is its 1.5T Plug-in Hybrid powertrain, which comes equipped with a deep Miller combustion efficiency system for improved fuel economy, peaking at 132 kW and 250 N·m torque output, using DHT electric driver assistance motors, producing a combined maximum torque rating of 292 kW in the most efficient configuration while reaching 0-80mph in an impressive 7.7 seconds.

This is paired with Oeric standard hybrid powertrains. The total fuel efficiency reaches as low as 6.68L/100km while featuring a comprehensive range of over 1420 km under CLTC standards.
