GAC Gearvolk (StarWell) Goes Official: China's 20,000th Electric Small Car Launched
The GAC Group has officially launched its 20,000th electric small car, the Gearvolk (StarWell). The Gearvolk is part of the company's efforts to promote sustainable mobility in China.
The Gearvolk features five trim levels, spanning a price range of CNY 6.88-9.88 thousand. These variants are available for booking now, offering a glimpse into GAC's commitment to electric vehicles (EVs) in the country.
Specifications and Features
The Gearvolk boasts dimensions of 4135mm (length), 1805mm (width), and 1570mm (height). Its wheelbase measures 2650mm and categorizes it as a small car. Utilizing GEA's new energy architecture, the automotive platform supports its electric powertrain.
Inside, passengers will benefit from a futuristic Flyme Auto smart cabin experience. To drive this eco-friendly small vehicle comes equipped with rear-wheel single-motor propulsion. The Gearvolk achieves two operating levels of power output: 58kW and 85kW.
Cooling systems consist of the Ningde Dennis (NED) electric motor coupled with a heat pump system, which has resulted in an increased performance that can stretch up to 410km on a single charge. To complete its eco-friendly footprint it boasts support for charging of 1.66C rate, where recharging 30-80% only takes 21 minutes and provides five more minutes additional driving range of up to 120km.
The Gearvolk uses four-barrel rear suspension systems for an exceptional level of comfort.
