Mercedes-AMG Unveils Fully Electric GT Four-Door Coupe
Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the production version of its AMG GT four-door coupe, featuring a low-slung design and a range of impressive performance credentials.
The new car is based on the AMG.EA platform and is powered by electric motors, with a maximum power output expected to exceed 1000 horsepower. The car's design language has drawn heavily from its concept counterpart, the GT XX, which showcases the vehicle's futuristic aesthetic.
Exterior Design
The production version of the car adopts a more subdued exterior design compared to its concept sibling. The front fascia features a closed grille design, with LED lights integrated into its signature straight-flow ventilation pattern. Two side vents accommodate new full-width air intakes designed for improved airflow and aerodynamics. Meanwhile, wheels in classic AMG Five-spoke Design are adopted along with golden brake calipers. In contrast to the concept version where one sees a three-piece ring-shaped LED daytime running light design, this will likely be replaced with a round single unit.
Unique Features
A new feature can be seen on cars' rear quarters and rear bumpers – a distinctive semi-circle opening that provides enhanced airflow for improved engine cooling without compromising style. Another significant change is the new LED light strip behind which serves to boost visibility during nighttime drives – a subtle touch often missed in these modern sports cars.
Interior
While details of the interior are yet unknown, insiders expect this new model will boast cutting-edge tech-based features.
A trio of parallel motor mounts have provided improved aerodynamic stability and increased power delivery. This configuration provides further reinforcement to the AMG E performance badge's reputation for producing high-performance variants.
