Equation Leopard 8 to Debut on November 12, Priced Between 40-50,000 yuan

The official release date for the Equation Leapfrog 8 has been confirmed as November 12. The vehicle is already open for online intent reservations, with a price range of 40-50,000 yuan.

Positioned in the mid-sized SUV segment, the equation Leapfrog 8 will be equipped with DMO platform-based plug-in hybrid powertrains, cloud agni-P main chassis control system, and Huawei Qiandu intelligent driving ADS 3.0.

From an exterior perspective, the equation Leapfrog 8 is characterized by a futuristic "starship" design language. The front section appears aggressive yet harmonious and straight, exuding a bold sense of power. The headlights feature sleek LED daytime running lights that complement neatly with the C-shaped trim on either side. A shallow indentation accentuates the front of the vehicle, lending an air of strength. Additionally, the roof is equipped with laser radar.

On the sides, the equation Leapfrog 8 boasts an angular and straightforward design that resembles powerful muscles. The rearview section has been enhanced to embody a hardy off-road nature through ring-like auxiliary spare tire arrangements, combined with rounded rectangular taillights on each side and silver-colored side mirrors. The car's dimensions are characterized by its length/width/height of 5195/1994/1875mm (including the roof rack measurement at 1905cm), while it has an overall track width of 2920mm.

Inside, the new vehicle adheres to the equation family's design vocabulary and features a full liquid crystal dashboard screen, central display screen, and auxiliary display screen. It also supports interactive functions and comes equipped with DiLink 150 system and BYD 9000 chips. The interior retains some physical keys for commonly used operations.

The layout has retained the standard three-seater design but is also available as an option for a seven-seater setup in the rear section, where the latter utilizes independent seats on second-row.

Power transmission-wise, the equation Leapfrog 8 features DMO-based hybrid drive systems with various low-speed and four-wheel-drive functions. The vehicle is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with 200kW and 300kW electric motor units, allowing for up to an overall power output of 550Kw and torque output of 760N·m.

The system achieves an 0-100km/h accelerating time of 4.8 seconds thanks to the smart four-wheel drive assist. Furthermore, it comes with a cloud agni-P suspension adjustment range and soft-hard suspension adjustment functions under advanced active cruise control. The vehicle also features dual camera vision and laser radar technology for advanced route awareness before it occurs.

In terms of advanced intelligent driver assistance systems, the vehicle will come equipped with Huawei Qiandu Intelligent Driving ADS 3.0 platform.
