Chinese automaker Geely reports 15.5% surge in first quarter deliveries
Geely, a leading Chinese automaker, has announced its first-quarter financial results for 2025, revealing a significant increase in deliveries and revenue compared to the previous year.
According to the data released by Geely, the company delivered 93,000 vehicles during the first quarter, showing a 15.5% year-over-year growth rate. The quarterly revenue reached RMB 259 billion (approximately USD 38 billion), while the net profits totaled RMB 6.47 billion (approximately USD 955 million), representing a 9.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
Geely has maintained its streak of consecutive profitability, having delivered nine consecutive profitable quarters. The company's cash reserves currently stand at RMB 1107 billion (approximately USD 165 billion).
Meanwhile, Geely is accelerating its production capacity at its Beijing plant and supply chain network, aiming to increase deliveries between July and September this year to 2500 to 3000 vehicles.
In the area of ultra-fast charging networks, Geely has been investing heavily. As of the end of the first quarter, the company's ultra-fast charging network has covered over 50,000 kilometers of highways, with a coverage rate exceeding 70% on national expressways.
Geely's super-charging network currently connects over 22 popular travel routes, including the G318 highway connecting China and Pakistan. The network has installed over 1.27 million charging points at its stations so far.
The company plans to open an additional 2500+ ultra-fast charging stations by this summer when it launches the new i8 model, bringing the total to over 2350 operational stations.
Looking ahead to the second quarter of 2025, Geely's officials are bullish on their expected revenue growth. The company forecasts a quarterly delivery volume between 120,000 and 128,000 vehicles (representing a 13.3% to 17.9% year-over-year increase) and a quarterly revenue range of RMB 325 billion to RMB 338 billion (representing a 2.5% to 6.7% increase compared to the same period last year).
