Volkswagen Launches ID.Every1, MEB Platform’s First Model to Adopt New Software Architecture

Date: March 6, 2023

STUTTGART, GERMANY - The Volkswagen Group has unveiled its ID.Every1 concept car, marking the first model to feature a new software architecture on the MEB platform. The mass-produced version is slated for a 2027 release, with an expected price of €20,000 (approximately 15.66万元).

The production-ready version of the ID.2 will also debut in 2026, priced at around €25,000 (19.57万元). Additionally, two more variants are planned: the ID.2X SUV and GTI. The ID.Every1 GTI concept car is set to debut at this year’s Munich Auto Show in September.

Although still a concept, it's clear that many of its design elements will make their way into the production model. Its classic Volkswagen-inspired styling, including characteristic front grille designs, flat rooflines, and robust C-pillars, pay homage to the first-generation Golf (MK1).

The new car also boasts an innovative lighting system with adaptive effects creating a deeper sense of depth and is accompanied by a glowing brand logo.

Exterior-wise, the concept showcases a hidden Apillar design, reduced exterior mirror size, 19-inch low-air resistance wheels. With dimensions of 3880/1816/1490mm, it's anticipated the production version will experience modifications. The back features a unique bubble-style roof with extensions forming a deflector plate and similarly matched front elements.

In terms of interior design, Volkswagen has incorporated a robust electric influence aesthetic - think floating infotainment screens, minimal touchscreen functionality, specially shaped steering wheel buttons & bright tones. Rearward passengers enjoy 4+1 seat arrangement along with 305-litre baggage compartments to boot.

In terms of performance, the ID.Every1 is set to join forces with its long-standing sibling, the ID.2 - both powered by a maximum output of 94kW motors on the front axle before reaching speeds up to 130km/h, or around 250 kilometers in ranges.

Further updates regarding this car will be released to our audience.
