M817: Huawei's Latest Off-Road Vehicle Boasts Advanced Smart Drive System

BEIJING, MAY 23 — A recently approved Chinese automotive authority release details on the upcoming M817, a rugged off-road SUV developed in collaboration with technology giant Huawei. According to available information, this hardy off-roader is powered by Huawei's cutting-edge ADS 4 intelligent driving support system.

Smart Drive System

The new vehicle will ride on the "Tai Yuan" architecture platform, which is based on Huawei's QSUN car control module self-developed, integrating hardware platformization, software services, and cloud-based end-to-end solutions.

Exterior Design

Exterior design features a sporty front grille with a sloping profile inspired by the mighty "Mighty Bull", combining a high-tech look with aggressive headlights. Side windows show significant improvements over previous Shanghai Auto Show configurations with reduced aerodynamic drag wheels on lower profile tires reducing downforce and creating better handling.

The rear tail lamps take their cue from previous generations while boasting sleeker, modernized designs and sharp angles allowing optimal vehicle shape through corners while keeping weight significantly minimal depending on intended application.
