Luxury SUV Exceeds Expectations: Xiali 9X Unveiled at Shanghai Auto Show

The Shanghai auto show has once again proved to be a platform for automotive giants to showcase their latest creations. This year, Xiali has unveiled its brand-new luxury SUV model called the 9X, which promises to revamp the way the industry thinks about hybrid vehicles.

Basis Information

Before diving into the technical specifications of this powerhouse, let's brush up on its basic information. According to previous show reports, the new vehicle is expected to retail starting at around CNY 1 million (approximately USD 147,500). However, considering Xiali's actual value for reference, such as ideal S800, the price may be more surprising nonetheless.

As of now, an exclusive first-mover plan has been kicked off, allowing those involved in participating activities to pre-register for Xiali 9X by prior permission. To start with, participants would be given advantage in purchasing priority, priority test drive, priority delivery, and special gift sets including exclusive products, among many other benefits related to these key advantages.

Performance Features

From an engine standpoint, this vehicle takes the plunge of mixed-energy driving fully equipped with the global first 900V powertrain system. Its engine utilizes a 2.0T-motor as its main engine, achieving a maximum power output in excess of 200 kW and exceeding 46% combined thermal efficiency.

The choice to go beyond 1.5T has something to do with that; the energy conversion structure here was not built primarily for progressive increase but is part and parcel of PHEV systems. Furthermore, this type needs an engine capable enough to sustain a massive force to push around such large bodies — a considerable amount comes in at the end.

The Xiali 9X uses a front single motor, alongside two rear motors within a three-electric axle layout structure. Here, the total output power reaches as high as 1030 kW with over 1400 Nm of torque, making good impression for such large form factor with just under four seconds to reach from zero to sixty kilometres per hour.
