Is Tesla's Cadillac XT6 a Done Deal? Details Emerge on US Factory Production Halt.

Cadillac XT6 Production to End in 2025, Models Shift to Meet Demand

Cadillac's plans to discontinue the company's XT6 model have been confirmed by overseas reports. The car will stop being produced by a factory located in Tennessee, United States, by 2025. However, the XT5 model will be produced until at least December 2026.

It has come to light that the manufacturing plant in Tennessee has been producing Chevrolet electric vehicles since 2022, including the company's first generation IQ eXtant. The facility recently began production of VISTIQ, which is expected to replace the XT6.

Speaking on the changes, a General Motors spokesperson described them as unrelated to tariffs.

In reality, Cadillac's sales for the XT6 have been underwhelming since its launch in 2019. An average annual sale of around 19,000 units has been reported. In internal documents, there was also a mention that due to persistent strong demand for the XT5, it is now expected to continue being produced until the end of 2025. The XMt was ranked as Cadillac's third-bestsold car for the 2024 year, with sales narrowly losing out to the Escalade and eXtant cars.
